Dear friends family and followers,
As our adventure down the Konkan and Malabar coasts of West India nears it’s end, in the morning we’ll find a home on this thin strip of land, near the small fishing village Kodi Bengre. Here we are hosted by Tushar and Ishita from the Shaka Surf Club, who will share with us their love for the ocean and show us a different side of living by the water from what we’ve seen in the big port cities and their colonial forts.
From our landing in South Mumbai, to our homestay with the Menezes family in Old Goa, our brief exploration of the economic and ecological forces that shape life in the jungle, and sitting with the stories of the diverse communities of Fort Kochi past and present, we have seen a lot. It’s now time for reflection, processing and drawing meaning from our Indian experiences, and preparing for reentry into New York life.
