Our group of fifteen is well settled into our Meditation Retreat in Namobuddha.
We’ve been learning breathing techniques, getting an excellent introduction to meditation and attending teachings with our amazing and wise teacher, Tashi. Most days we wake up pretty early for a 6:00 am (optional) prayer. We eat breakfast at 7:00 am. We eat all our meals with the monks in a large dining hall on wooden benches at wooden tables. Our guided meditation is at 8:30, followed by a teaching at 10:30. Lunch is early at noon and after a check-in to process all that we’ve been thinking and feeling, we have the afternoon off to continue practicing our meditation, learning more about buddhism or exploring the monastery grounds. Dinner is also early and light. We’re all ready for bed by about 8:00 pm.
We will be here for a few more days, until the 27th, when we will travel to our rural homestays in Ale Gaun, west of where we are now. A 12 hour bus ride will get us there and we will update you all once we’ve arrived and settle into our new homestays.
Until then, know that our bodies and minds feel at ease with this peaceful schedule and we are so thankful for our time here.
