Hello all! Today, Saturday April 27th, we will depart Kunming and head out for our final phase of Bridge Year: our month of student planned travel around China! Here is our currently outlined itinerary! Keep an eye our for periodic updates about our travel and any schedule changes!
April 27th: Depart Kunming for Lijiang on an overnight train
April 28th: Travel from Lijiang to Shangri-La and spend the afternoon in Shangri-La
April 29th: Travel from Shangri-La to Daocheng Yading, Sichuan Province
April 30th-May 2nd: Hiking in Daocheng Yading Natural Reserve
May 2nd-4th: Visiting Litang, a Tibetan village at 4600m on the Tibetan Plateau
May 4th-12th: Visiting Chengdu, and doing a rural homestay either in Western Sichuan Province or on the banks of Qinghai Lake in Qinghai Province
May 13th: Visiting the Rainbow Mountains in Zhangye, Gansu Province
May 14th: Visiting the last outpost of the Great Wall of China in Jiayuguan, Gansu Province
May 15th-16th: Visiting the Gobi Desert, the Singing Sand Dunes, and Crescent Lake in Dunhuang, Gansu Province May 17th-18th: Visiting Turpan, Xinjiang Province, known as the “Death Valley” of China
May 19th-20th: Visiting Urumqi, Xinjiang Province, the capital of the province
May 21st-23rd: Visiting Kashgar, Xinjiang, in far West Xinjiang province
May 23-29th: Instructor-led “Transference” activities (likely in Tashkurgan, Xinjiang)
May 30-31st: Last two days in Kunming and the culmination of our Bridge Year Program!
