Local Gurung Dance in Sikles Village

For my ISP project, I traveled to Sikles village which lies within the Annapurna Conservation Area which is outside the city of Pokhara. The village is a Gurung village and one that values its traditional culture. In order to preserve the communities traditions, the locals have occasional fundraising events. I was lucky enough to be in the village during one of these events. The community came together and performed traditional Gurung dances, with the participants varying from village elders to the youngest in the community. At the end of the day, the village had raised 15,000 Rupees which would all be saved for cultural heritage projects in the future. Attached is a video of one of the dance performance, it is very impressive!
