Silk Road Instructor Introduction

Dear students and families:

I’m writing to you from Lamay, near the ancient town of Cusco, Peru. Last Christmas I started a 6 month trip that would complete my world tour, which I started in 2008. I have been traveling for 4 1/2 and half months now, 2 months in India for yoga practice, 2 weeks in New York City for Improv acting classes, 2 months in Bolivia and Peru to connect with nature and the local community who took me in as one of their own.

Right now I’m looking at the breathtaking landscapes of the Andes. The scenery reminds me of the geography in Xinjiang and Tibet, and I feel myself getting excited to go there this summer. I’m extremely eager to work with you all and to experience and grow together through the ancient Silk Road! As you already know, we will expand our trip to Kyrgyzstan, which is thrilling news for us all. Over our 6 weeks together, we will have many opportunities to explore the cultural diversity and significance of the Silk Road today.

I was born in China, and over 28 years living there, I’ve lived in 10 different places: from traditional villages to contemporary cities, from time on unspoiled coasts to time spent with different ethnic groups. I’m eager to share these experiences with you as you begin your own exploration of China.

If you have any questions or thoughts, please feel free to post here or write to me: [email protected].

I am thrilled to meet you all and to travel with our Dragons family. See you all soon!
