It is hard to put into words what you experience and even harder to capture in a few photographs. Students have been learning about the plight of the Tibetan people in exile by teaching the monks English (to help with their mission of spreading the word of what is happening in their country). They have bonded with their homestay families and celebrated their time together. They have learned from important Lamas about how to attain true happiness, a quest which will take a long time to truly comprehend but they are starting to grasp what is so special about these people, this culture, this region. We will miss Dharamsala; however, we are off to our next deep dive in the rural Tibetan colony of Bir.
