Hello. My daughter has experienced altitude sickness when she’s been in high elevation. When I asked the office they suggested I post a Yak to see if the leaders will be bringing altitude sickness meds, or if the student should bring her own supply? Thanks!
Answer: The instructors will be carrying some altitude medication (Diamox, or Acetazolamide) in their med kit in case students struggle with altitude acclimatization. For students that have experienced altitude sickness in the past and would like to take Diamox preventatively before the group ascends in altitude, we recommend bringing some Diamox from home. Pleas note that Diamox is a prescription medication.
