We are all together in LA and excited to meet you very soon! Patricia and Maddie are headed back to Beijing tonight to get everything ready for your arrival and Ian is preparing to meet you at the airport for the group flight to China!
In these final few days, we wanted to send a couple last-minute notes.
– Please bring a headlamp with you. There will be times when this is helpful to navigate at night. A flashlight is also fine, but a headlamp is preferable.
– Our group flight arrives in Beijing very early on June 30th at 5:20am! We will be heading straight from the airport to the guest house where we will be staying for orientation in the mountains north of Beijing. We have a long day ahead of us! Jet lag affects everyone differently, but the best strategy to beat it is to stay awake all or most of the night before you fly, then get a full night’s sleep on the plane from LA so you are already rested and ready to take on the day when you arrive in China. This will definitely help to make your first few days much easier and more enjoyable!
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” – Lao Tzu (Laozi), Chinese philosopher and author of the Tao Te Ching 《道德经》, born 601BC
Have a great final few days as you say goodbye to friends and reflect on the summer ahead.
See you soon!
Maddie, Patricia, and Ian
