My name is Becky. I am 17 years old from Gurnee, Illinois, which is about an hour North of Chicago. In school, I play water polo and I’m in choir. I am passionate about getting outdoors and exploring the world around me. For 7 years, I went to a 7-week camp in Maine where we went canoeing, built fires and chopped firewood, so I learned to love nature. I also enjoy music, sailing, crochet, and photography.
The reason I chose Madagascar is that it is so unknown to most of the world. When I tell people I am going to Madagascar, the first thing they think of are talking penguins. Many don’t know where it is or what language they speak. I wanted to experience this unknown. I think that the biodiversity in Madagascar is amazing and I’m super excited to experience it with all of you in about a week!
