My host family has my counterpart, David, and his two parents. They live in the top floor of an apartment complex with a garden at the bottom, which is still three floors off the ground. David’s parents speak no English, so communication is difficult, but David can help. We eat breakfast at their home every morning, and then we go to school. This past Saturday we went to a market area, in which we ate popsicles and stinky tofu. I was surprised by the sheer amount of people packed into such a small area. We ate lunch, and then we visited a beautiful lake. It still has not dawned on me that we are in China; it does not feel real, but I am loving it so far.
