Hey I’m Sammy. I’m 16 and just finished my sophomore year. I live in Boston and am a big Boston sports fan. I love playing, creating, and listening to music, and at school I play saxophone for the jazz band. I also play for my school’s soccer and lacrosse team. I enjoy being in nature and doing physical activities. I feel like the outdoors makes everyone happier. I like to believe that I am easygoing and I always want to have a good time.
In Spanish class this year we spent time learning about the conflict in Venezuela and the Argentinian dictatorship. I really enjoyed learning and somewhat immersing myself in these cultures while in my class. However, I know very little about Guatemala and I am excited to change that. I’ve taken Spanish for several years in school, but I feel that I will learn so much more here than I ever could in a classroom setting.
I’ve spent the last 8 summers at an overnight camp in Maine, and although I will miss it, I can’t wait to start this incredible journey with everyone.
See you soon!
