Hello, everyone! I’m Will, a rising senior at Thacher and, as Uncle Jake pointed out, the only male student on this trip.  I’m from Kentfield, California (just north of San Francisco), where I live with my parents, my sister Lily, and our dog.  Here are some fun facts about me: I am incredibly indecisive, I’m left-handed, my sister and I are really close, I have matching Crocs with Joi, I have a strong distaste for wearing jackets in the car, and my favorite legume is the lentil.  I’m also really excited to embark on this trip with such a great group.

What drives you to want to experience India? What aspect of Indian culture and/or community are you most interested in?

This trip will be my second trip with Dragons, as I went on the Thacher trip to Cambodia during the summer of 2017.  That in itself is one of the reasons I’m so excited about going to India; I learned so much on that trip and had an amazing time.  I’m excited to have the opportunity to learn about a place and its rich history and cultural significance about which I would not otherwise learn in school; this trip is a chance us to learn from a country that rarely makes it into our classrooms (besides its history as a British colony).   I am excited to immerse myself in everyday life in India to see what I can learn from the place and the people we meet.
