Hello, my name is Daisy and I am one of two rising sophomores on the trip. In the picture above, I am on the right, next to my younger sister Maria. I am from Seattle Washington where I grew up in the city with my three sisters, Edel (20), Libby (18), and Maria (13) in addition two our Goldendoodle Clouds and two bunnies. I am currently 15 years old and enjoy playing a variety of different sports, spending time with friends and family, singing and “embracing my artistic side” whenever I can.

I think that over the years, my attachment with material possessions has diminished as I find I can easily give up my phone or other materialistic items. In past summers I attended a sleep-away camp where we were unable to access technology for two weeks. Though this is a short amount of time, when reflecting with other members of the camp, we all found that it was much easier to form genuine connections and felt less of an attachment to our phones in specific. Similarly, in India, I think that in embracing the trip without the distraction of the attachment we often have to materialistic possessions, we will be able to experience India for everything that it is. I couldn’t be more excited!
