Introduction: Victoria Gutierrez

My name is Victoria Gutierrez and I attend The Thacher School. I live in Los Angeles, California with my mom, dad, brother and two dogs. At Thacher, I run cross country, I play on the girls varsity basketball team, and have just somewhat learned how to play lacrosse for my second year on our JV girls team. A few interesting facts about me are that I am 16 years old, I am a black belt in Taekwondo and I am approximately 5’0 tall (probably more like 4’11). I just finished my sophomore year of highschool at Thacher and am very excited to spend this summer before my junior year in India.

With the WhereThereBeDragons program, I am hoping to be able to learn more about the Indian culture and participate in different Indian traditions and customs. I have always been fascinated by the music, dance, food, architecture, attire, tradition, and values that make up Indian culture and I am beyond excited to get to dive into experiencing it all. I have never travelled outside of the U.S., yet I have always wanted to travel and explore the world. One of my dreams has been to travel to India not only to see the beautiful landmarks, but also gain a deeper understanding about how India works and become more aware about the outside world. I know that this trip is going to be such a memorable, fun, and fulfilling adventure with a group of the most amazing people. I can’t wait!
