On our second day, we continued with our orientation and learned about leadership, the red rules, and expectations of each other. We took a short hike up a small mountain/hill and went to an apple orchard and picked tiny apples with our host (YeYe) from the eco lodge we stay at. There were lots of places to take beautiful pictures. On the way back, we came across a playground/exercise park and got out some energy. We came back to the eco-lodge and did our precourse assignment presentations which brought up a long conversation about China’s rapid urban development and discussed our tentative itinerary for the rest of the course. Then we had dinner and started immersing ourselves in more language study by choosing a word of the meal. We watched a short film on experiential education through different cultures before going to bed.
Greetings from China!
