We just finished our time in Azrou, the site of our first homestay. A beautiful city of the Middle Atlas mountains, Azrou gave us an invaluable glimpse into the Moroccan home. We arrived on the 6th around 12:30 pm, so our first experience with our host families was lunch. As I and many of my friends can attest to, the food that our families served us was some of the best we’ve had in the country. From elaborate tajines filled with couscous, vegetables, and meat to the countless cups of tea, our new siblings and parents never disappointed. During the day, our hosts took us around Azrou, introducing us to their friends along the way. My favorite memory from Azrou was climbing the great rock in the center of the city with friends from both countries and getting a great view for miles around. We are all extremely thankful to our host families and all who helped secure us the priceless experience.
