In Sickness and in Health

Hello, Lucy and Bella here. We thought it would be valuable to share our wonderful experiences in the bustling city of Phnom Penh. Or more specifically, the Starwood Inn bathrooms. As we lay on the wonderfully refreshingly cold bathroom floor we began to reflect: How did we get here? The Grim Reaper’s icy grasp first fell upon Lucy. With a high fever and low level of food retention, the future looked extremely bleak. Bella was next to fall victim to the disease, the likes of which have not been seen since the Black Plague rampaged through Europe. As our fellow Dragons ventured through the fast-paced city, meeting with the various inspiring NGO’s, we were given a different path. The road less travelled, if you will. Every 15 minutes or so, when the regurgitation level was high, we took turns training for our 10k with interval sprints to the bathroom. The only respite from our illness was that we were suffering together. Due to the sickness, our bond increased, now we are connected, in sickness and in health. The saltines and applesauce became a staple food source, our only food source, for 72 hours, curtesy of Lucky’s Supermarket. We hope our friends had a wonderful time in Cambodia’s capital, we certainly did.

Disclaimer: We were very well taken care of and now we are fully healthy so no need to worry, we are just very dramatic.
