After an amazing time in Machu Picchu, we are now in Ocongate getting ready for a 4-day hike to Ausangate mountain. This happens to be the most sacred mountain for the Quechua people in Southern Peru. Everyone is excited because of the challenge of the hike in terms of the high altitude, but we’ve been now for more than two weeks traveling above 11 000 feet. For the next four days we won’t have phone nor internet connection, so we won’t be able to tell you about the experience until afterwards. Stay tuned on Tuesday when we finish our hike and head to Urubamba, where we’ll spend the last days of our program. In the pic, the route of our three campsites: Upis, Azulcocha, and Pucacocha.
