Sights and sounds of Peru

Hello all, I am going to talk about some of the sights and sounds of peru as I have experienced them. First off, the flight from Lima to Cusco was incredible, as we got our first glimpse of the Peruvian Andes. The extreme geography was amazing to see, and was our first real taste of Peru.

Traveling through Cusco to Urubamba, we took a van ride through the city and down into the valley. Driving through the city we heard the constant honking of car horns. I spotted a man walking down the street with a kitten on his head, which made me laugh. We heard the sounds of people in the streets and markets, and animals everywhere. In South America especially stray dogs are everywhere, and though we couldn’t touch them because of safety reasons, it is cool to see all the types of dogs on the streets. On our van ride we also got another glimpse of some of the incredible mountain peaks as we dropped into the sacred valley.

At the hostel, Ccatan Eco Lodge, we saw and interacted with the family running the hostel. We heard the sounds of children playing, and the use of Spanish a lot more.

Orientation has been an incredible start to this trip, and I can’t wait to share more of the experiences as the trip continues. Until later,
