A little bit about me

Hi everyone!

My name is Isabela but all my friends call me Isa back at home; I’m a Colombian girl who just graduated from school 3 months ago now. I decided to take a gap year before going to college because I saw it as an opportunity to learn new things and gain experiences from different areas that can’t be learned at college or school. I started my gap year working at Camp Waziyatah in Maine, being the tennis instructor and it was awesome, I learned a lot about how to work with different kids of all ages!

I have to admit that it was hard for me to make the decision to choose China as my destination, but seeing all the subjects we’ll learn about and the itinerary, it sounds like it’s going to be perfect for me and my interests. I feel passionate about everything related to economics, history and culture; I love to get to know different people from around the world and let them surprise me with their wonderful stories of their lives; I love to sit with someone and hear them talk about their loves and their hobbies because I can understand how thinks work.

I’m going to law school next year, so during what is left of the year I would love to learn about all aspects of culture and how law and history has had an impact on the development of China. I’m really exited for the homestays and to meet all of you guys.

Back at home I love to try different kinds of food. I LOVE food and trying new things. I love everting that’s involves adventure and new landscapes, and I can’t wait to see all of the magnificent things China has to offer.
