Arrival instructions – Important!

Hello everyone,

Preparing to travel can be stressful, especially if you’re not used to all the aspects of international travel. This is a Yak to let you know what to expect as you move through the process of arriving to Peru. It should be a pretty straightforward process however please be sure to read thoroughly.

As you prepare to travel please remember that staying organized will make your trip much smoother. We recommend having all your documents you need (your passport, your boarding passes, etc.) in one place in your carry on. Make sure to take some snacks and anything else you need to be comfortable on the long international leg to Lima as well.

Lima is a traveler friendly airport, please know that most airport staff will be able to speak English and will help you out if you need it. As Lima is your international port of entry you’ll need to pass through both immigration and customs. When you arrive you’ll be shuttled to immigration where you’ll need to present your passport. They may ask you some questions about your stay, you’ll just want to tell them that you’re there for tourism and you’ll be there for two months. If they ask, you’ll be staying in Cusco at the Hotel Resbalosa. The customs officials will stamp your passport.

After you pass through immigration you’ll need to collect your bag and pass through customs before you recheck your bag to Cusco. When you arrive in the Cusco airport you’ll need to collect your bag and exit. Once you exit then Kaela and Luis will be waiting for you with Dragons shirts on. We’ll wait for the whole group to arrive and then we’ll transfer to our orientation site.

We’re really looking forward to meeting you all and coming together! If you have any doubts or questions about the arrival process please feel free to reach out to [email protected] or [email protected] and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Good luck as you prepare and we’ll see you soon!
