Hi! My name is Anna Pinkerton and I’m from Chevy Chase, Maryland. I’ve lived here my whole life, with the exception of my sophomore year which I spent in Landgrove, Vermont. In Vermont, I participated in an environmental program called Mountain Campus, where I developed a passion for environmental sustainability and all things nature.
I love spending time outside, especially backpacking. One of my current life goals is to hike the entire Appalachian Trail, I’ve already completed the Vermont section. I am especially looking forward to our treks in the Himalayas!
In my free time, I love to read, write, cook, and spend time with my dog Maple, who happens to be a great hiking buddy. I am vegetarian and have spent a lot of time experimenting with different recipes, so I am very excited about the food and the opportunity to learn how to cook authentic Indian cuisine.
To prepare for India, I’ve been reading The End of Karma by Somini Sengupta and spending as much time with my friends and family as possible before we take off for the year. I am super excited to meet everyone and begin our adventure!
