Hi everyone! I’m Faith. I decided to take a gap year to have a more global focus, gain clarity about what to study in college, and become more independent. I’m Chicago born and raised and am a fan of all things Chicago- running through different neighborhoods, exploring with my friends, Chance the Rapper, and trying every kind of food possible (my older sister and I have a food instagram). I’m the middle of three girls and I am very close with my family. I used to run, swim, and do triathlon but I recently switched to rowing. I will be rowing at Stanford following my gap year. I’m looking for a few running buddies during our time in China. I also love art, cooking, reading, and biking at night with my friends.
I was drawn to the Dragons China program because I took Mandarin in high school. I enjoyed a school trip to Beijing and Shanghai and knew that I wanted to come back to study the language and culture in more depth. My language abilities are not where I would like them to be, so I’m excited to improve. I’m very curious about the homestay portion. I can’t wait to get to know you all, explore Chinese culture, plan activities and have dim sum (my favorite food). I’m meeting the group in Beijing so see you all there!
