On a recent Friday evening, our group enjoyed local live music at Open Mic Night night at Cafe Ramsterdam in Boudha, on the east side of Kathmandu.
Our fearless leader Sharon Sitling sang a traditional Lepcha song with her husband Aditya Shrestha, who is also a Dragons instructor on a Himalayan Gap Semester course. Sharon-didi is a member of the Lepcha community.
The Lepcha are the indigenous peoples of Sikkim, the Himalayan valley just east of Nepal, north of Darjeeling in India.
It was a very sweet and beautiful experience to watch them sing together. What a talented couple! Thank you Sharon and Aditya!
