Our ecolodge has a resident llama named Chloe– she was raised with the dogs (fluffy, fluffy but not-so-fluffy, and not fluffy), and genuinely she believes she’s one of them. She responds to her name (we watched her excitedly run towards us this morning after one of her owners called her over), and if she weren’t fenced in, she would come bounding up to us, jump on our shoulders, and generally smother us with affection. Chloe also plays an essential role in the ecosystem of the garden (creating fertilizer), which makes her even more lovable. She’ll be our hardest goodbye when we set off for Machu Picchu in the next few days.
