We’ve spent the past two days in Dieng Plateau, a beautiful part of the highlands nestled amongst volcanoes and terraced farms. Yesterday and today, we explored two ancient Hindu temples in the area, using these sites as a backdrop for orientation programming. As you can tell, the group was eager to explore after seemingly endless days of travel from the States.
Everyone is bonding quickly and enjoying their first Indonesian meals, language lessons, culture conversations, and group ice breakers—becoming comfortable in this new country and with each other before entering their first home stays next week. We (the instructors) feel so privileged to be entrusted with such caring, inquisitive, adventurous students. We are grateful and excited to be on this journey with them over the next three months.
