Hi, I’m Sydney

Hi, I’m Sydney Medina and I’m from Princeton Junction, New Jersey. Since I will be traveling
with my twin sister, Jillian, I thought I’d use this photo so that you could see our younger sister,
Gabby (I’m on the left). We also have an older brother so there are 4 kids in my family.

I graduated from West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South in June and I am extremely
excited to be embarking on the first part of my gap year in South America with you. I am
interested in art, fashion and travel. I spent my sophomore summer studying with the Fashion
Institute of Technology in New York City and last summer I studied with the Parsons School of
Design in Paris. I will be attending New York University in the fall of 2020 where I will
concentrate on fashion and communications at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

My hopes for this semester is to improve my Spanish, experience different communities, and
get a different perspective on life. I also want to try something completely new – I love cities
and have never backpacked or spent much time in nature. This will be a challenge but I think
I’m up to it.
