Hello Everyone,
My name is Judah and I use he, him, his pronouns. I was born and raised on the rural, rugged coast of Northern California. I am taking a gap year before attending Yale University next fall as a member of the Class of 2024. I recently returned from working at a summer camp in Yosemite for ten weeks as a camp counselor, which was a truly transformative experience.
My interests and passions include politics, current events, activism, social and environmental justice, literature, history, art, reading, soccer, and music. I also love spending time outdoors, especially hiking, backpacking, trail running, and swimming in natural bodies of water. I have not yet declared a major for college, but I am considering something in the humanities or social sciences.
I am extremely excited for this program, especially for the trekking and travel components. I am looking forward to learning skills that will help me move through other countries and interact with other cultures and peoples in a conscientious and sustainable manner. Although I took Spanish for three years in High School, my skills in the language are very rusty and I’m also excited about the opportunity to practice and improve in a real world setting.
I can’t wait to meet you all in person and begin our travels!
See you soon,
Judah
