Hola estudiantes!

It’s your instructors here in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, waiting for your arrival. We just wanted to send you a last little note to say we are so excited to meet you all bright and early on Monday! So soon!

PLEASE make sure you have read our pre-course assignment! We’ll be discussing this in the first days of orientation and expect that you all will have read this and have written a short journal reflection on it by then.

Reminders…

1. Bring your student ID’s!
2. Back up your gmail accounts with another e-mail, so you don’t get locked out
3. Notify your bank with a travel alert.
4. Feel free to bring a small gift for your homestay family in Tiquipaya (something cultural, yummy, or fun to share from your home)

In the meantime, if you still just can’t wait to get started, we wanted to share a couple of extra resources for your perusal.

• Pico Ayer’s  “why we travel” is a great introductory resource to get us thinking about our motivations and purpose for this trip. Save it somewhere for reading on the airplane!

It’s a Spanish language podcast  that “cuenta crónicas latinoamericanas en audio, celebrando la diversidad y complejidad de la región”.  You can find written transcripts as well to follow along on their website! There are many amazing episodes with features on Bolivia and Peru.
