helloo!

My name is Lia (I am the last to the party oops), and I am almost 18 and from Palo Alto, CA! My summer has been filled by mini California road trips with my friends and family, working at a Greek restaurant and kids summer camp, and a trip to Japan! Some of my other favorite things are lakes, hiking, journaling, TIME specials, and concerts when I can.

One of my favorite parts of high school was being involved with my school’s arts and culture magazine that allowed me the privilege and bandwidth to write a range of stories relevant to both our intimate community and also larger ones. I am looking to pursue journalism in college, but for now, am so excited to hear all of your stories and the ones we encounter along the way.

I am taking a full gap year before college and was drawn to Dragons for its “traveler not tourist” mantra, as it is something I feel I haven’t really been able to experience in past travels. South America itself is somewhere I have never visited, and the richness of the two countries we are visiting is bound to teach me more than I can fully grasp right now. I am so excited to share in each facet of this trip with you all, particularly trekking and Spanish classes, and exploring our FOI as it is woven into everything we do.

I am really counting down the minutes & breaking in my chacos 🙂

See you Sunday!
