We are back in Urubamba after an amazing trek to Machu Picchu. After dodging bugs, trains, dogs, and tourists we made it to the incredible ruins. Our guide told us about the speculations of the Incan history at the ruins. After walking around and taking it all in for a bit, we hiked back down to our tents for a well deserved lunch. We then hiked back along the Peru Rail tracks and ate another well deserved meal when we got to the end. Today, we debriefed our time at Machu Picchu, where we talked about the commodification of the ruins, and the pros and cons of tourism in the area. We just finished buying groceries for our next trek, and are now enjoying some free time to find gluten free snacks.
