Happy Things 2.0!

Greetings, loved ones!

As promised, I’m returning to the Yak Board with a second list of things that make me smile in Bolivia. Our group has enjoyed a variety of fun (and often challenging) moments over the past two weeks in Sucre, Potosí, La Paz, and the Andes, and I’m thrilled to be able to share some of the most memorable with all of you. Also—shoutout to my mom’s Facebook friends for all of the positive feedback on my first Yak. After watching Mahesh pull an all-nighter to produce his Pulitzer Prize post, I was feeling a bit insecure about my technique, but your kind words have strengthened my resolve to do the absolute least. ❤️

And now, the list:

– [ ] Huge, comfy night bus chairs
– [ ] Colorful, patterned textiles at the Indigenous Art Museum in Sucre
– [ ] Fleece pants 😍
– [ ] Grooving with my Bolivian dance partner after the traditional dance show
– [ ] My 20 boliviano chocolate ice cream (you BET it was worth it after missing out on some vegan brownies)
– [ ] Living amongst royalty (King Mahesh and Sir Gear rule my world)
– [ ] The BEST salteñas in Bolivia
– [ ] Banana milkshakes
– [ ] Para Tí chocolates
– [ ] Aqua tablets—these ROCK. (I’d rather nap for 90 seconds than use my Steripen.)
– [ ] Vegetarian restaurants in Potosí with OATMEAL cookies and VEGGIE burgers 🤑
– [ ] Playing volleyball with my inspiring and fierce eight-year-old competitor, Aurelia
– [ ] Dancing in Potosí’s plaza while waiting for our pizzas
– [ ] Waf’s. Oreos. Bon O Bon’s.
– [ ] Emmy demolishing us at sapo
– [ ] Street alfajores 😘
– [ ] Playing paranoia with the group during dinner
– [ ] Mommy Colleen 2.0 saving my life on the night bus (don’t worry, I still love you, Mommy Colleen 1.0)
– [ ] 😎💋💘 Cipro 💘💋😎
– [ ] Our authentic Italian feast
– [ ] Having a dance party in the courtyard of Casa Verde
– [ ] Cafe Retrato 😰
– [ ] Looking out at the ~special~ scenes of La Paz from the viewpoint
– [ ] My mule, Lance
– [ ] Being in the clouds at our campsites
– [ ] Baby wipes and hand sanitizer
– [ ] Feasting on PB & J with Emmy after long days of hiking
– [ ] Mahesh shh-ing any dogs who tried to enter the kitchen tent
– [ ] Judah’s laugh.
– [ ] Trek burritos and SOPH’s GUAC!!!
– [ ] Planning Cat’s reality/crime/romance show, “CATCALL”
– [ ] Max having literally EVERYTHING you could possibly need on trek (including his Febfest hat, of course)
– [ ] Jesse’s speaker
– [ ] Hannah’s downloaded Spotify playlists on the iPad
– [ ] The beautiful dry and warm bed I got to sleep in on the last night of trek (this was the greatest blessing of my life)
– [ ] My single, precious tube of Glossier’s balm dot com (saves me every time—use code MOLLY for 20% off your next purchase)
– [ ] Mahesh’s daily inspiration and offerings
– [ ] Judah’s and my future start-up (we’re planning to sell buckets of mashed up Clif Bars and those metal strings you use to cut clay slices, so if you’re interested, don’t hesitate to reach out because we’re looking for investors)
– [ ] Admiring the Milky Way while getting lost and crafting our epic poem, “Ode to the Southern Cross”
– [ ] My twenty-year-old, gay boyfriend, ❤️ Max ❤️ (as our ~open~ relationship is neither sexual nor exclusive, it is PERFECT for our Dragons trip, and I can confirm we are very happy with our Oreos and peanut butter)

Mommy Colleen 1.0, I hope this made you smile! Part 3 is coming soon. 🙃

Much love,
Mol
