What a week it has been! Last Saturday we were in the Yugas chilling in hammocks, exploring the town of Coroico and doing mid-course activities. For those of you who do not know much about Bolivia this country is B-E-A-UTIFUL. As we left La Paz on Friday afternoon we took one of the most eye capturing drives of my entire life. First driving through snow-covered mountains high as the eye can see going through tunnels shooting you out into a tropical jungle. It was amazing! Most people know of this area as a tourist destination because of death road, but it has so much more history than just that. It is home to the Afro Bolivian community where hopefully I’ll be spending some time doing my ISP learning more about the culture and way of life there. It was a refreshing weekend getting to reconnect as a group before an exciting week of presidential elections, the coolest activities in La Paz and meeting our homestay families in Tiquipaya.
