Saying goodbye to the Amazon

Hi families!

Aaaaaand we’re back. Last week we left Guanay by boat, cruising comfortably down the Rio Beni and setting up camp on river banks on our way to our Amazon homestay in the small indigenous community of Asuncion de Quiquibey. Here we spent 4 nights with families, learning to harvest yuka, plantains, papaya, and other tropical delights. Every evening just before sunset, we put our fútbol skills to the test, sweating furiously as we struggle to keep up with the skilled local team.

I could talk endlessly about the beauty of this community but that is a task better left to our thoughtful and amazing students. 😎 Some photos for now and look out for more student yaks in the coming days!

Con gratitud,
Los instructores
