Back in Peru

Dear friends and family,

I am writing to let you know that CSA South America has made it back to Peru safely. We left Tiquipaya at 3 am and had no trouble catching our flights from Cochabamba to La Paz to Cusco. We arrived mid-day and have been catching up on sleep and re-adjusting to our new schedule. We feel sad to leave Bolivia and deeply concerned by political developments and the escalation of violence. We are hoping for a peaceful resolution soon.

We will be in Cusco through Nov 20 developing new independent study projects that we can conduct in the Sacred Valley of Peru. This schedule change provides a great opportunity for our students to travel independently in a place where they have more experience. We look forward to seeing their new projects develop! On Nov 21 students will embark on 2 weeks of independent travel in a part of the Sacred Valley that is relevant for their course of study. We will be in regular contact with them, but they will have an opportunity to independently manage their time, their budget, and their learning. We will reunite on December 5 to wrap up our independent study projects with a final paper and presentation, and we will spend our remaining days reflecting on and celebrating this journey together.

Wishing you all the best,

Kaela
