Itinerary Updates!

Dear friends and families,

As many of you I’m sure are aware, Oct. 20th’s presidential election here in Bolivia has been marred by controversy. Claims of fraudulent results, ongoing nationwide protests, and blockades on major highways between La Paz and Cochabamba have forced us to reconsider our return to our homestay families in Tiquipaya.

We are instead staying safe in El Alto (a city lying just above La Paz), working with a youth theater group and spending some relaxing time with host families here before we cross the border and continue our journey in Cusco, Peru. Considering all these changes, we wanted to roughly outline our remaining itinerary.

El Alto, Bolivia Nov 4 – Nov 8

Cusco, Peru Nov 9-10

Nacion Q’eros, Peru Nov 11-15

Student Led X-Phase! Nov 16-30 During this portion of the course, student will have control over deciding our itinerary. Look out for more updates in the coming weeks about their specifics plans! (It will surely involve some mountain trekking and visiting Machu Picchu)

Lima, Peru Dec 1-5 Here we will spend our last few days together at an eco-lodge in a small fishing village on the Pacific coast before we say our goodbyes at the Lima airport.

For more information about some of these places, you can review our precourse tentative itinerary yak.

Okay, that’s all for now. We’ll leave it to our students to fill you in with details and more photos of our adventures.
