On Wednesday afternoon we had a lovely time taking part in a Pachamanca, a traditional way of cooking meat and veggies in the earth with hot stones. The stones are heated by a fire for a couple of hours and then we dropped in potatoes, sweet potatoes, fava beans, and plantains. While the veggies were cooking we helped our amazing cooks make sauces, guacamole, a salad, and Grace and Claire prepared a Chinese dessert of mango and coconut. We shared time in Casita Huarán with our host Tania, where we also spent our orientation. It was a wonderful afternoon of community and being thankful for everything that the Earth gives us in terms of sustenance. We hope you enjoy the pictures.
