Hi friends and family,
We have had quite the adventure this last week trekking in Ausangate. Despite the rain, hail, and snow we experienced on the trail – we had an incredible time being among the sacred mountains and lakes in this region. We are happy to be back down from altitude (at a mere 11,000 ft here in Cusco!), and enjoyed a much needed day of rest.
Tonight we will continue our travels finally to the Amazon! We will be spending a week with a non-profit organization based out of Puerto Maldanado – learning about the local ecosystem and communities there. The following week the students will then be taking over for the Student Led Expedition phase of the program, based out of the Sacred Valley!
