X Phase photo dump!

Sorry for the lack of updates recently! X Phase has been super fun and we are all sad about it ending tomorrow. Attached are photos of the Labuan Bajo Harbor in an early morning as we headed out for hiking and snorkeling, the top of Padar island after a short but very hot (and subsequently sweaty :/ ) hike, sunset above the harbor, 2 photos of the group at the Saraswati Temple in Ubud before a discussion led by Eeshani about Hinduism, and one in the rice fields (ft. Alex’s new shirt promoting fried rice) outside of Ubud following another discussion, this time led by Enzo about Balinese history.

  • We have also started incorporating daily gratitudes into morning meetings. Some of my favorites from the group from this week:
  • Willingness to listen to and work with feedback
  • Very very blue water and boats
  • Meaningful conversations about anything, including the passing of time, cultural perceptions, climate change, and self growth
  • Big smiles and hugs
  • Listening ears
  • Guidance in the constant balance of traveler and tourist

We have so much to be grateful for everyday, and I am personally happy we are taking the time each day to clearly label things that have been important and special to us. For me, this space allows me to both vocalize thanks and also reflect on my previous day, allowing it to morph into a memory full of gratitude for the little and big moments of happiness, gratitude, and reciprocity.

Tomorrow we head back towards Denpasar for a lecture from some of Colin’s friends about their grassroots organizations focused on Balinese youth and environmental activism. Afterwards, we will catch a plane to Kuala Lumpur and take some time to reflect on this last week full of adventure and sun!
