Adventures in Urubamba – Los Tiburones del Inti

Hola from an Internet Cafe in Urubamba! Today we had the opportunity to explore our new pueblo for the next couple weeks. We were tasked with a scavenger hunt which encouraged us to step out of our comfort zones and involve ourselves in the community. We began the day by exploring the bustling mercado and discovering new fruits we had never seen before. You walk into an expansive three-story warehouse brimming with fresh food. Every stand we went to, we were met with warm smiles and patience while we practiced our Spanish. Our adventure was just beginning. We then meandered around town, soon finding ourselves in a panaderia having an interesting conversation about what life is like in Urubamba with our cashier. We then spoke to an amazing woman in a tienda, who excitedly shared with us everything from various types of alpaca fur to famous Urubamba legends. We took a break to pause at an internet cafe, taking a quick breather to process our adventures thus far. We´re so excited to see what else the day has in store for us! PS. Matt bought a hat, and wants everyone to know.
