Communication expectations after Jogya

Hi everyone!

Firstly, I just wanted to share these shots of the students at Prambanan which were taken two days ago 🙂

Secondly, the first month of our semester course is over and the team are coming to the end of their extended homestay in Jogya. Tomorrow (Friday) they will host a homestay farewell party in the program house to give thanks to their hosts and to present their ISPs to their mentors, families and peers. On Saturday morning the group will fly to Labuan Bajo via Denpasar and will begin the 2/3 chunk of their program.

I would like to remind families and friends that after Jogya communication with the student group will be more limited in comparison to their time in the city. Their next stops are a rural subsistence farming village (Langa) and then a very isolated subsistence fishing village (Sampela) where there is very patchy signal, and sometimes no electricity. The group will of course have time to connect with home when they are passing through towns (which will be every two weeks or so).

If anyone needs an urgent/time sensitive message to be sent to their child/loved one you can feel free to direct it through me ([email protected]). The Yak Board will be the place to watch for location changes etc. The students will also be able to post Yaks on most days.

Thanks for your continued support!

Jessica.
