Looking back at some of the moments and spaces we experienced here in Jogja has given us a lot to think about.
The pictures below include some of the moments that filled our days here, during a stay that seems to defy the way we normally experience time.
I) We sit together, listening, sharing –and singing!?– about reducing waste during a visit with a homestay mother with an inspiring organization.
II) A visit to the mosque right next to our program house with another of our incredible homestay mothers gave us insight into how and when to pray, and even how it can be meaningful on a personal level
III) The winding pathway we toured at a nearby permaculture farm that was an exploration of how conservation relates to seeing the land where we get our food as a wholistic system.
IV) Each day, a couple of us feed the fish living in our program house, and maybe their presence gives something back to us as well
V) The rivers that run down from central mountains and volcanoes lead to the southern ocean, and have shaped Jogja, including the sights some of us may see as we travel to and from our homestays.
