Urubamba Scavenger Hunt!

Hello from an internet cafe in Urubamba!

Today we are doing a scavenger hunt in the city in order to become more acquainted with where we will be living for the next two weeks. We started in La Plaza de Armas and headed to el mercado, where we picked up some lunch food for tomorrow, such as dragonfruit, passionfruit, and avocados. We also learned the names of a few types of potatoes, although we have yet to learn about the 4,995 other types of potatoes here!

After the mercado we went to a panaderia to buy some bread for tomorrow, and then met back up in La Plaza de Armas to go get lunch. We went with Benito and another group to eat the Peruvian dish chincharon con choclo, and also a stuffed pepper dish.

With full bellies, we headed back to la Plaza de Armas to interact with some local people.  We learned about different things like the surrounding rivers of Urubamba and Incan archeological sites.  After interacting with the gente, we headed to this cafe so that we could share our adventures!  The scavenger hunt has not ended though, time to get back out there!
