My name is Alan Condori Flores. I studied tourism, culture, and languages; I speak English, French, Spanish and a native language from Bolivia (Quechua). I have been working for Dragons since 2011 for our summer and semester programs in South America and I did a semester program in Central America as well. When not working with Dragons I am the manager of a social project restaurant.
I want to let you know that I am very excited for this program because we will be visiting awesome places and getting to know incredible people here in the Bolivian Andes. You will be interacting with other amazing peers, local guides, local organizations, small communities, and your instructors.
I am positive that this experience will open your mind, will nurture you to see different ways of living and different points of view. It will also challenge you to engage and learn about yourself and become a better global citizen. The past year and even this year Covid-19 really struck vulnerable families and small entrepreneurship. The inequality, privilege and power dynamics in times of Pandemic are topics of reflection that I ask you to start thinking about. There is so much to be said and reflect upon. We will create safe spaces for everyone that wants to share opinions, thoughts and experiences.
Along with my two awesome co-instructors, we want to let you know that we are here to support you, to guide you throughout the whole journey you are about to embark upon. I am happy because you are becoming travelers and that already makes a huge difference in how we see the world.
That being said, I would love to invite you to use this awesome Yak Board for you all to introduce yourselves and start building our community of travelers. Also, you can use the Yak Board to ask any questions or any concerns you might have at any point before the course or you can also send me a message to [email protected]
Dear students, families and friends stay tuned because we will be posting important Yaks related to our Itinerary, pre-course assignments, packing list and much more!!!
Nos vemos pronto queridos estudiantes,
Alan Condori Flores
