HOWDY FROM ALBUQUIRKY

Greetings!

I hope this finds you well rested for our summer course together! My name is Atieno Ouma and I will be one of your instructors for the Colorado River Basin summer. This is my second Dragons course- the first one was last semester and covered the Rio Grande Basin. We learned about Indigenous sovereignty, permaculture and food justice, backpacked in Utah and camped! There is just something irreplaceable about being able to see stars at close to zero pollution. I have worked for Outward Bound, been a wilderness Ranger and a wild land fire lookout. Educating in the outdoors is a passion of mine as well as social justice. I look forward to learning together about public lands, exploring Colorado, and digging deep about food. Please pack light, bring an open mind and feel free to reach out if you have any questions before our trip! We are going to have a memorable experience!

Be well,

Atieno Ouma [email protected]
