Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest

Today was one to remember! We started off the morning with a little chillier weather than before. My chore group (Sagebrush, whoop whoop!) had lunch duty today but since we had excursions (also whoop whoop!), we helped out in the kitchen around 6:30am for breakfast. I honestly have such a newfound appreciation for the kitchen and cleaning crews anywhere because that stuff is not easy.

We went to the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest! We drove about 2 hours to get there and it was totally worth it. Our adventure had a great group of people and we saw some breathtaking views and trees. Methuselah is a tree said to be about 4800 years old! We did a 4.5 mile hike, which was eye-opening because I feel like I now have a huge connection to nature. We did a journaling activity on the loop and it truly made me notice the vast incredible environment around us (I think I’m speaking for everyone when I say that).

We had lunch out there before going on the hike. For dinner, we had pasta with “Mari’s Sauce” which was amazing. We have another excursion tomorrow, so I can’t wait to see what’s to come!

We’ve officially hit the halfway mark of this trip and it honestly feels like we just got here!
