Peru 4B group, summer 2019

Dear Peru students and families,

As your departure date approaches we wanted to share some important information about your arrival to JFK airport and transition to Peru. The instructors have already gathered to plan the final details of the program, and can’t wait to meet you in Cusco soon!

Group Meet-up at JFK

Upon arrival to John F Kennedy Airport in New York, please proceed to the baggage claim and collect your luggage. Your group meet-up point will be the LATAM ticketing counter, located on the Departure Level of Terminal 4. You will be greeted by your group chaperone, Matt Kostakis, who will be awaiting the group at the meet-up location in a Dragons t-shirt from 6 pm on. Matt will double-check that each student has printed evidence of their negative PCR test. The group will check-in for the international flight together approximately 3 hours prior to departure, so please proceed directly to the meet-up location when you arrive.

If you have any questions, Matt can be reached at: +1 (917) 244 4585

COVID Protocols

    1. Please fill out the Pre-Arrival COVID Health Screening Form and submit it to Dragons no sooner than June 30st (the day before your travel).
    2. All travelers to Peru need to present printed evidence of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of travel. Please note that a negative Covid test is required even for vaccinated individuals.
    3. Within 72 hours prior to international check-in, each passenger must also complete an Affidavit of Health. We will send detailed instructions on how to fill out this form by email. Upon completing the form please print the full PDF and bring it with you.
    4. In transit to Peru, passengers are required to wear a face mask AND face shield/protective glasses at the airport and on the plane at all times. Note that the face shield will not be provided; you will need to purchase one for travel.

Note that entry to Peru is restricted for passengers that have visited Brazil, India, or South Africa in the 14 days prior to travel.  Non-compliance regarding the use of the face mask and face shield or the instructions given by the airlines/airport personnel can result in boarding cancellation or the rejection of passengers to Perú. Please watch this short video that explains the arrival protocols in Peruvian airports.

Once you arrive in Peru, remember that you will have had a long day of travel in public spaces. So, please make sure you are taking the appropriate precautions while traveling. For example, at the Peruvian airports (in Lima and Cusco), please make sure you wear a mask and maintain 6 feet of distance.

Thank you for helping to get this course started off right by coming prepared with all necessary documentation, and taking COVID precautions seriously during your travel day.

We are so excited for this adventure to begin!

Warm wishes,

The Dragons Administration
